You'll face a boss here called The Evil One, also known as Larva. It's a Level 48 enemy with 150,000 HP, weak to Fire and Bug attacks.

After the party is wiped out and The Evil One retreats, you'll regroup. Your next objective is to head to the end of Norende Ravine, where the Great Chasm awaits. Look for the Dark Aurora, which is The Evil One's lair, hanging in the sky near the ravine's peak. There's a magic circle on the cliff's edge that serves as the entrance to the game's final dungeon. Get ready!
