Hey there! So, you've got your 3DS or 2DS hooked up to the internet, right? Awesome! This means you can jump into the 'Update Data' function, which you'll find in the Save menu. You can access this either by chatting with the Adventurer or directly from the world map. It's a super handy way to keep things fresh in your game.

So, what exactly do you get from updating data? Well, for starters, any friends you've already registered will get their profiles updated if they've recently re-uploaded theirs. This is a lifesaver if you've summoned a friend's character and need a fresh one, or if they've picked up some cool new abilities for their Abilinks. It keeps your summoned allies up-to-date!

But that's not all! You'll also snag up to five random guest profiles from players all over the world. Think of these like StreetPass guests – you can use their characters for a Friend Summon. Plus, each guest you get helps out with your Norende Reconstruction efforts by giving you an extra resident. And if they've sent any Nemeses your way, you'll get those too! This is especially clutch if you don't get many StreetPass tags.

Speaking of Nemeses, you'll also get a new one from Square Enix if they've released one and you haven't snagged it yet. The best part about these Square Enix Nemeses? As far as we can tell, you're pretty much guaranteed an item drop after you beat them. Sweet!

Don't forget, when you update your data, you're also uploading your own profile. This means your friends can get your updated profile and Friend Summon when they update theirs, and other players might get it too if they're lucky. Just a heads-up, you can only grab those guest profiles once per day, so make sure you hop in and update regularly!
