Defeat Goldie and its Comets in bravely default. Learn strategies for Lv.20, Lv.99, and Plus versions, including weaknesses and HP.

  • White Mage with Dispel (for absorbing buffs)
  • High BP generation
  • Group-hitting moves
Walkthrough
  1. 1
When Goldie uses Incubation, three Comets will spawn. These Comets can attack or use Rapid Growth to boost Goldie's attack and add Regen.
  2. 2
Goldie can use Cannibalism to eat Comets, restoring HP equal to the Comet’s remaining HP and absorbing its buffs and BP. Comets have 10,000 HP each.
  3. 3
Regen heals Goldie for 15,000 HP per turn. Avoid letting Goldie eat Comets, especially if they have Regen.
  4. 4
Spam group-hitting moves to kill off Comets and damage Goldie at the same time.
  5. 5
Be aware that Goldie and its Comets may Default, potentially preventing all Comets from dying.
  6. 6
If Goldie absorbs Regen, use Dispel from a White Mage to remove it.
  7. 7
Promptly dealing with Comets makes Goldie easier to defeat and yields massive experience.

Level 20 Version:

  • HP: 15,000
  • Weak to: Lightning, Aquatic
  • Absorbs: Water
  • Has the same moveset as the higher level version, but does not know Festival Lights. It is a weaker version of Rusalka, but damage from Bouncy Ball is harder to reduce.

Plus Version (Lv.99):

  • HP: 999,999
  • Weak to: Lightning, Aquatic
  • Absorbs: Water
  • Speed: 127
  • Has Slow and Steady to further improve Speed.
  • Defenses are sturdier; Meteor or Firestorm barely make a dent.
  • Comets have just under 100,000 HP and can recover 9999 HP each turn.

Plus Version Strategy:

  1. Use Hasten World and Stillness. Ensure characters are fast enough.
  2. Equip Fox Tails or Falcon Knives in both hands on all characters to ensure Goldie never moves first.
  3. Damage dealers should be Thieves with the Freelancer’s job command, Hermes Shoes, and Speed 30% Up (Thief). One Thief needs Speed 20% Up.
  4. The Stillness user should be a Performer with the Spiritmaster’s job command, Hermes Sandals, Speed 20% Up, Hasten World, and Steady MP Recover (Conjurer).
  5. Turn 1: Stillness user casts Love Rush (raises party’s Speed and Stillness). Fastest Thief uses Examine and Godspeed Strike on Goldie. Everyone else uses Mimic four times.
  6. Turn 3: Repeat Turn 1 moves, but replace Examine and Godspeed Strike with Godspeed Strike and Mimic.
  7. Turn on Auto-Battle.
  8. Goldie will Brave for attacks or Default to trigger Slow and Steady, not eating Comets due to Hasten World’s BP.
  9. After Goldie perishes, defeat the Comets.
Tips
  • Focus on dealing with the Comets quickly to prevent Goldie from healing or buffing itself.
  • The Plus version requires significant speed and damage output to overcome its high HP and defenses.
  • The Thief's Godspeed Strike is highly effective against Goldie Plus due to the speed-based damage boost.
