A comprehensive Bravely Default walkthrough for the Eisenberg Asterisks sub-scenario, detailing strategies to defeat Captain Barbarossa, Praline, Qada, and Nobutsuna Kamiizumi.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
    Captain Barbarossa

Level 48, 90,000 HP, Weak to Lightning.

Barbarossa uses Defang to lower attack and Shell Split to lower defense. He can combine Shell Split with Double Damage. When his HP is low, he will Brave twice for extra Double Damage. Use Default to mitigate heavy hits. The Ninja's Utsusemi and Templar's Rampart can help survive hits. Consider using Utsusemi and Rampart together with Kairai to focus attacks on a protected Ninja. Have a Salve-maker ready for revivals.

  2. 2
    Praline a la Mode

Level 48, 80,000 HP, Weak to Nothing.

Praline uses Love Power to boost party attack and One More For You to grant an ally 1 BP. She is protected by two Black Blades that she will resummon if defeated. Equip Peace Rings or Swordmaster's Confuse Immunity to prevent confusion from the Black Blades. Use the Vampire's Sandstorm to blind the bodyguards and leave them alive. Remove Transience from Ninja and bench Swordmasters to avoid killing the bodyguards with counters. This cripples their attacks and prevents Praline from summoning replacements. Focus single-target attacks on Praline. Use Pirate's Defang or Vampire's Curse to lower her attack. If Sandstorm was missed, use Vampire's Firestorm or other AoE attacks.

  3. 3
    Qada

Level 48, 60,000 HP, Weak to Nothing.

Equip Star Pendants to resist Qada's Potion Hi-Potions, which inflict poison and deal 1000 damage. Water of Life slowly restores Qada's HP and can be removed with White Mage's Dispel. Dark Breath deals damage equal to Qada's missing HP and can reach 9999 damage, causing a KO. Wait for Qada to Default, then use Rampart to shield your party from Dark Breath or Kairai to direct it to a Ninja with Utsusemi. Use a Salve-maker or White Mage's Arise for revivals.

  4. 4
    Nobutsuna Kamiizumi

Level 48, 80,000 HP, Weak to Nothing.

Kamiizumi uses Nothing Ventured to counter physical attacks, Before Swine against magic, and Know Thine Enemy on a chosen target. To counter his moves, use Utsusemi or Rampart before attacking to ensure he misses if he counters. Alternatively, focus attacks on a single turn, risking a counter. If a character is KO'd, Kamiizumi will Brave twice for three attacks. Use Default (and Templar's Default Guard) to survive, then revive fallen allies and counterattack.
