Guide to the Trouble in Caldisla section of Bravely Default. Learn how to find Edea, prepare your party, and prepare for the journey to Lontano Villa.

Alright, so you've made it to Caldisla! From Centro Keep, just head south until you reach the town. Don't worry about resting at the inn just yet; you're not in immediate danger. Once you get inside the royal palace, you'll witness a pretty grim scene.

Turns out, the Eternians have nabbed the king! After leaving the palace, you'll find yourself back at the inn. A bit of discussion later, and Edea will be the only one in your party. Your next task is to lead her to the far west side of town, where you'll see an orange exclamation mark. That's your cue!

The next day, everyone will regroup, and you'll be ready to head out to rescue the king. With Edea by your side, you might just be able to sneak into Lontano Villa, the Eternian stronghold. Before you go, though, it's a good idea to get Edea kitted out and maybe pick up some Black Magic scrolls in town. Prioritize Fire and Thunder scrolls – they'll be super useful when you get to Lontano Villa.

As for party composition, Agnes could make a great Black Mage with White Magic as her Job Command. Alternatively, you could make Edea a Black Mage to balance things out, but remember to give that Ise-no-Kami sword to a physical attacker. Just a heads-up, Edea actually shines more as a physical attacker than a mage.

Once you're outside town, you'll get a rundown on Special Moves, and you'll be able to use them from now on. You can set them up in the main menu under “Special.” Initially, you'll only have the sword Special Move, “Hack and Slash.”

You can snag more Special Moves and parts to customize them by rebuilding the corresponding buildings in Norende village. So, make sure to get those StreetPass tags and update data frequently to get more Norende residents!

A quick note on Special Moves: These are your heavy-hitters, dealing way more damage than regular attacks. To use one, you'll need to meet certain conditions in battle – for “Hack and Slash,” you need to Brave 10 times. Then, in battle, just select “Special” from your command list to unleash the fury!

After you pull off a Special Move, your party gets a stat boost that lasts as long as the Special Move music plays. You can chain these moves together to keep the music going and the bonus active longer. Before a tough boss fight, try to save a couple of Special Moves to unleash some serious damage when you need it most.
