Complete the Vampire Asterisk dungeon in bravely default. Find items like Bloody Blade, Hermes Shoes, and defeat Lester DeRosso.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Floor 1: From the entrance, head left and hug the wall to find a secret passageway with a chest containing a Bloody Blade. In the top-left corner is a blue locked chest. Follow the corridor right from the entrance to a chest in the bottom-right corner containing a Dragon Fang. Head straight up from the entrance to meet DeRosso and see a painting. To the left of the painting is a chest, or to the right are stairs leading up.
  2. 2
Floor 2: Turn right at the first junction to find a chest with Hermes Shoes. Head back and follow the corridor down and left. At the junction, turn left for a chest with a Black Belt, or turn right for another painting. Near the painting are stairs leading up.
  3. 3
Floor 3: Head straight down to find the Soul of Thamasa in a chest. Go back to the previous junction and follow the corridor right to the third floor’s painting. Stairs to the next floor are on the right, near the painting.
  4. 4
Floor 4: Follow the corridors until you reach a junction in the bottom-right corner. Head up to find Dwarven Gloves in a chest, then continue left. At the next junction, head left for a chest with Hyper Bracers, or head up to reach the fourth painting.
  5. 5
Floor 5: Immediately turn right to find Magic Armlets in a chest. Continue down from the stairs and stop at the junction by the south. Go up to recover Lamia’s Tiara (negates Charm) from a chest, or go right to reach the fifth painting and stairs.
  6. 6
Floor 6: Turn right at the junction by the south to obtain a Megalixir from a chest. Follow the corridor left to the sixth painting.
  7. 7
Floor 7: By the south, the seventh painting awaits. In the top-right corner is a chest containing a Lilith’s Rod. To the left, the Adventurer stands waiting, and beyond, Lord DeRosso wishes to make your acquaintance. Approach the Vampire to initiate the boss battle.

Boss: Lester DeRosso

Lester DeRosso is Level 60 with 150,000 HP and is weak to Light.

Strategy:

  • DeRosso uses Battle Thirst to steal one BP. Avoid ending a turn with -1 BP.
  • He uses Energy Burst to deal heavy damage after storing BP.
  • Bone Crush deals damage equal to your lost HP, potentially fatal if you have less than half HP.
  • Graviga chops off around 3/4 of your party’s health, with a chance to miss.
  • A Rampart strategy can work if your Ninja and Performer have high speed, aided by Hermes Shoes and a 20% Speed ability.
  • Keep your party healthy (above 3/4 HP) to mitigate Graviga damage, as it bypasses Rampart and Utsusemi.
  • Be wary of DeRosso stealing BP from your Rampart user or Performer.
  • Offensively, use light magic (like Holy), weapons infused with light (Excalibur or Holy Lance), or the Templar’s Radiant Blast.
Tips
  • Give your party appropriate protection against fire (Fire Charm or Black Mage’s Abate Fire), charm (Rebuff Locket or Performer’s Charm Immunity), and confuse (Peace Ring or Swordmaster’s Confuse Immunity).
  • Ninjas with Utsusemi are good for evading physical hits.
  • Use multi-hitting attacks against Cerberus to avoid Payback.
  • Arcanists with Exterminate and Twilight are effective, especially with Group-Cast All from a Level 14 Black Mage.
  • Inspect paintings to learn more about Luxendarc’s history.
