Learn how to get the Makeshift Vault Key and infiltrate the Vernworth Vault in Dragon's Dogma 2. Discover the best strategy to avoid guards and claim your rewards.
Walkthrough
- 1Find the Makeshift Vault Key: Locate the key in a black and gold chest within a side room of the tower at the Ancient Battleground. This room also contains the Nation’s Death Knell spell. Access the tower by climbing to the top and entering through a broken wall near the cliff. The Ancient Battleground can be reached from the south or east, passing the Sphinx and Mountain Shrine.
- 2Return to Vernworth Palace: Once you have the key, travel back to Vernworth Palace.
- 3Infiltrate the Vault: Wait until night when there are fewer guards. Approach the Vernworth Vault. The guard stationed there will prevent access if alerted.
- 4Neutralize the Guard: Equip an Archer or Magick Archer Vocation. From a distance, shoot the guard with your bow. It typically takes five to seven shots. The guard will not retaliate if attacked from afar.
- 5Conceal the Body: After defeating the guard, drag the body into an adjacent room and close the doors by pushing them. This prevents detection. If you trigger an alarm (indicated by sinister music), you can restart from your last checkpoint or Inn rest, or let yourself die.
- 6Loot the Vault: Open the four chests inside the vault.
