Discover the changes and challenges of Dragon's Dogma 2's final endgame area, The Unmoored World. Learn how to unlock it, what new threats await, and the quests needed to save the world.

The Unmoored World is the final endgame area in Dragon's Dogma 2, accessible after a specific choice during the final battle with Grigori. This area represents the end of days, with a world on the brink of destruction and a ticking clock to complete crucial objectives.

How to Unlock The Unmoored World:

During the final battle with Grigori, you will be taken to a battlefield. Grigori will hint at severing what keeps the cycle going. While on Grigori, move towards the center. You will begin to flash, indicating a key moment. Grapple to Grigori's underside, where its and your heart is. Position yourself over the scar, open your menu, and use the Empowered Godsbane Blade obtained from Ambrosius to impale yourself. This triggers a cutscene, transporting you to an ominous place, and upon returning to the world, you will find it in a state of decay with a reddish hue.

What Changes in The Unmoored World:

  • New enemies like Liches and stronger variants of Skeletons and Undead appear.
  • Enemy placements change, featuring stronger versions of familiar foes.
  • New chests appear, often containing Ferrystones, compensating for the absence of Oxcarts.
  • Some shops offer upgraded weapons and armor.
  • Some NPCs previously thought dead are alive.
  • New areas open up, while others are destroyed, making navigation challenging.
  • A reddish fog gradually engulfs the world, acting as a pseudo time limit. Failing to complete objectives within this hidden time limit results in a restart, offering a rogue-lite experience.
  • Oxcarts are unavailable.
  • Ferrystones are more plentiful, found in new chests, dropped by enemies, and bosses.
  • Enemies are stronger, some with different variants.
  • Wyrmslife Crystals are more plentiful.
  • Death results in a restart to the first day in The Unmoored World.
  • You are on a time limit as the end of days counts down, indicated by red clouds.

The red beacons marked on the map indicate locations where you must defeat Dragons. Two additional beacons are not shown on the map.

The Unmoored World Quests:

The primary goal is to save all people by completing their respective quest lines, which often involve convincing townsfolk to evacuate. Each major settlement has a red beacon; touching it with the Godsbane initiates a boss fight against a Purgener. Defeating all Purgeners is a main objective, all to be completed before the red fog consumes the world.

Before embarking, find your separated main pawn and visit Rothais at the Seafloor Shrine. The quests to complete include:

  • Dreams Apart
  • Halls of the First Dawn
  • Kill the Vernworth Purgener
  • The Regentkin’s Resolve
  • Kill the Sacred Arbor Purgener
  • A Scholarly Pursuit - Kill the Bakbattahl Purgener
  • Civil Unrest
  • Kill the Volcanic Island Camp Purgener
  • The Importance of Aiding Ernesto
  • Kill the Excavation Site Purgener
  • Shepherd of the Pawns
