Flickering Shadows Walkthrough

Upon first entering Bakbattahl, you will automatically receive the Flickering Shadows quest. The Pathfinder will direct you to Ambrosius at the Olta’Battahl Coast.

To find Ambrosius, head northeast from Bakbattahl, passing through the Mercantile and Residential Wards, and take the northeastern exit. Follow the road northeast until you reach the Olta’Battahl Coastline. Continue northeast along the coast.

Ambrosius will not share information until you provide him with Blue Crystal Shards. The first four shards are located nearby: one behind Ambrosius by the sea, one north near a hooded man, one north past a large central rock, and one behind a small rock east of the previous shard.

Trade at least one Blue Crystal Shard with Ambrosius. He explains they are components of the Godsway and that he needs larger shards. He suggests speaking with an Oracle and the Dragonforged. He offers 100G per shard.

To find the Dragonforged, head north from Ambrosius, cross a wooden bridge, and enter a cave. Follow the tunnel northwest to find the Bay Wayside Shrine where the Dragonforged resides.

Before speaking to the Dragonforged, collect the five Wyrmslife Crystals on the floor. These can be used to purchase items like a Portcrystal (for 20 WLC), Ferrystones, and an Unmaking Arrow from the Dragonforged, and are also used in crafting.

Speak to the Dragonforged and select the "Talk" option, then choose "Tell me of the Godsway." He does not know about the blue crystal shards but mentions a sorcerer named Phaeus.

To find the Oracle, return to Bakbattahl and take the western exit. Head west then north, or take an Oxcart from Bakbattahl to Checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death) Rest Town and travel south into Battahl. Head south to some ruins, then east to the Reverent Shrine.

Speak to Luz, the Oracle, at the Reverent Shrine. They do not know much about the Godsway but mention a surface below the sea unreachable by mortals.
