Learn how to use the Browse feature in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster to view demon stats, summon demons, and understand their mythological backgrounds.
The Browse feature in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster, also known as the Akuma Zensho, allows players to view all recorded demons. You can sort them by race or level using the L1/R1 buttons. Pressing the O button brings up a demon's status screen. Additional options include a "view" screen to rotate and angle the demon model, and a "mythology" screen for a brief background on the demon.
A key function of Browse is the ability to summon demons directly into your party. From a demon's status screen, pressing O and agreeing to the prompt will summon the demon into an empty slot in your Stock. This allows you to re-summon demons that were used for fusion or other purposes. However, summoning comes at a significant cost in Makka, which scales with the demon's power. Completing the Akuma Zensho by recording all demons grants a price reduction for summoning.
The Akuma Zensho carries over between playthroughs. Even if your level is too low to use most demons, you can fuse low-level demons with powerful skills, record them, and then summon them early in a new game for an advantage.
The Demons
The following section lists demons with their base statistics. Note that these base stats may differ from their appearance as enemies. Skills marked with an asterisk are innate skills a demon possesses upon fusion or recruitment. Other skills must be learned through leveling. Enemy demons may also have different skills than their allied counterparts.
Transfer: This indicates the types of skills that can be transferred during fusion, based on the demon's affinity. Opposing affinities include Fire vs. Ice, Electricity vs. Shock, and Hama vs. Curse. If no colon is present, the demon cannot be fused or its transfer affinity is unknown. Skill types include Mouth (Mo), Wing (Wi), Claw (Cl), Bite (Bi), Physical (Ph), Needles (Ne), Weapon (We), Maiden Mediate (Ma), and Talking/Conversation (Ta). These types are also relevant for mutations, where some pre-mutation skills may be lost if the mutated form cannot use them.
Personality Type: There are 15 personality types, each with a distinct way of speaking. Examples include GOD (classical Japanese style) and WARRIOR-MAIDEN (forceful yet feminine).
