Learn about the Graveyards in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster! Discover how to re-fight bosses, understand attack counts, and achieve red records.

Alright, so you've been battling your way through the Vortex World, right? You'll notice these things called Graveyards scattered around the ADZ. Think of them as a boss rush mode, but with a twist!

Each graveyard is basically a memorial to a boss you've already defeated. Until you actually beat them, their grave will be empty. But here's the cool part: once you find the special item called the "Black Visor", you can head back to these graveyards and challenge those bosses again. Your goal? To beat them as fast as possible!

The game keeps track of how many "attacks" it took to defeat the boss. Now, this isn't literally just how many times you pressed the attack button. It's actually based on how many Press Turns you used up. If you land a critical hit or exploit a boss's weakness, you can get extra hits in without using up a full Press Turn. The game even rounds down, so if your final blow is a critical that would have used a Press Turn, it might not count as an "attack" at all! And if you're super lucky and manage to defeat a boss without using a single full Press Turn, it'll still count as just one "attack." Pretty neat, huh?

When you examine a grave after qualifying, your best record for "attacks" will be shown in red. It's a nice little challenge to see if you can shave off those "attacks" and get that red record!

The graveyards, their bosses, and the target "attacks" (Press Turns) are as follows:
