Walkthrough

    On the overworld (the map you navigate between locations), move your character into a corner or a dead end.

    Keep holding down the directional pad to try and move in the same direction as the wall.

    Kagutsuchi's phase (the in-game timer that affects demon appearances and other events) will change, but no enemies will attack you.

    This can be combined with items like Breath or Chakra Shoes to refill your HP (Hit Points) and MP (Magic Points) without any risk of being attacked.

    This is also useful if you want to advance Kagutsuchi's phase to help Shige finish his digging in the Asakusa Tunnel.

Warning: Later versions of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster have seemingly fixed this bug. Time will still pass when you are up against a dead end, but enemies can now attack you.
