Unlike past Shin Megami Tensei games where the protagonist was a human demon summoner using a computer to interact with demons, the hero in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster IS a demon. This means you no longer need a computer to interact with other demons. The hero takes on demonic characteristics, cannot equip weapons or armor (as neither are present in-game), and does not use a computer. Instead, you can fuse the hero with demonic essences called Magatama. The hero can also cast spells and use abilities previously restricted to demons.
