Complete the Brother's Keeper side quest in Hogwarts Legacy. Learn how to find Bardolph, defeat Inferius enemies, and decide whether to tell Claire the truth.
Walkthrough
- 1To start the quest, travel to Upper Hogsfield. You can begin this quest as soon as you learn Incendio, but a broom will make travel easier.
- 2Speak with Dorothy Sprottle in Upper Hogsfield. She will tell you that Bardolph has gone missing after interacting with Ashwinders and suggest you speak with his sister, Claire.
- 3Find Claire Beaumont at her stall in the center of Upper Hogsfield. She will provide more details about her brother, including his distinctive woollen jumper. This conversation is optional.
- 4Make your way northwest of Upper Hogsfield to find Bardolph. You are looking for ruins atop a hill between the North Ford Bog Entrance and East North Ford Bog Floo Flames.
- 5Upon arriving near the ruins, you will encounter Inferius enemies (at least Lv16). These enemies are vulnerable to fire magic. Use Incendio to damage them. Accio can be used to pull them closer for an Incendio attack. Explosive barrels can also be used, and Arcane Magic finishers will bypass their immunity.
- 6Continue fighting Inferius enemies until Bardolph Beaumont's Corpse appears. It can be identified by its woollen jumper. Defeat the corpse.
- 7After defeating Bardolph's corpse, you will be prompted to inform Claire. You can search the area around the ruins for notes that describe Bardolph.
- 8Return to Upper Hogsfield and speak with Claire at her stall. You have two dialogue options: tell her the truth ("I'm afraid he's dead.") or lie ("He's decided to pursue a new life.").
Tips
- Inferius enemies are immune to damage unless hit with fire magic first. Incendio is essential for this fight.
- Accio can be used to group Inferius enemies together for an effective Incendio attack.
- Explosive barrels and Arcane Magic finishers can also be used to damage Inferius enemies.
- The choice you make when speaking to Claire at the end of the quest does not impact the outcome or Claire's reaction.
