Shadows of the Undercroft Walkthrough

Alright, let's get through the Shadows of the Undercroft quest in Hogwarts Legacy! When you kick things off, stick close to Sebastian. He'll lead you behind some stairs to a hidden contraption. Interact with it, and you'll both enter a secret area called the Undercroft. Inside, Sebastian's going to teach you a pretty neat combat spell: Confringo. It's basically a fireball launcher, super handy for hitting targets from a distance.

Once you've got Confringo down, Sebastian's next task for you is to light three braziers located on the roof. Make sure you pop that new spell onto your hotbar so it's easy to access. Then, just cast Confringo at each of the three braziers. Light 'em all up, and you'll have pretty much finished the main part of this quest.

Before you bounce, take a moment to have a good look around the Undercroft. There are a few bags and chests scattered about. Give 'em a good loot – you might find some extra Galleons or even some new gear!

Now, as you leave the Undercroft, you're going to run into Sebastian's friend, Ominous Gaunt. He's waiting right outside and, at first, he won't recognize you. But he'll quickly figure out you're not Sebastian and start grilling you about how you know about the Undercroft. You'll have a couple of dialogue options here:

• Sebastian showed me.
• I stumbled upon it.

Honestly, it doesn't really matter which you pick. If you rat Sebastian out, Ominous gets annoyed he shared their secret. If you lie and say you found it yourself, he'll see right through it and know Sebastian told you anyway. So, choose whichever feels best to you.

After that initial chat, you'll get another dialogue choice about keeping the place a secret:

• No need for threats
