The Caretaker's Lunar Lament

After completing Percival Rackham’s Trial, you’ll receive an Owl Post from Gladwin Moon. Travel to the Faculty Tower Floo Flame in The South Wing of Hogwarts to find him near an Animal Door puzzle.

Talk to Gladwin Moon. He will draw your attention to a Demiguise Moon in a nearby alcove. Grab it when prompted.

Gladwin Moon explains he needs you to hunt down Demiguise Statues throughout the world, primarily in Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. In exchange, he will teach you the Alohomora spell for picking locks. The first level of Alohomora is learned during this quest, allowing you to open Level 1 Locks. Higher levels are taught as you collect more Demiguise Statues.

You must first collect two Demiguise Statues from the Faculty Tower. You will need to complete a stealth section.

Learn the Alohomora spell by succeeding at the new spell minigame. This will allow you to attempt to unlock any Level 1 Locks.

Test your lockpicking skills on the doors leading to the Faculty Tower.

Once inside, head upstairs and cast Disillusionment at the landing. Regularly cast Revelio to highlight enemies (faculty and prefects) so you can sneak around them or distract them. Remember that line of sight is key; if an enemy isn't facing you, they are less likely to detect you.

Where to Find the Demiguise Statue in the Faculty Tower: On the first floor, sneak past the prefect in the middle of the level by going up the stairs to the left. On the next floor, ignore Professor Sharp and Professor Weasley and sneak upstairs to the right. Ascend a spiraling staircase. On the following floor, wait for a prefect to walk down a hallway to the left, then go through a doorway to the right (Level 1 Lock) to reach the prefect’s bathroom. The first Demiguise Statue is at the far end of the bathroom. The prefects in the bathroom will not move.

Where to Find the Demiguise Statue in the Hospital Wing: Exit the bathroom, turn right, and head up another spiral staircase to the Hospital Wing. Near a doorway to the left, wait for Noreen Blainey to start her rounds and move towards you before going through a door to the right. Once she has passed, you can head down the right side of the room before she leaves, or immediately afterwards, or after the two teachers along the left side of the room have also left via the door. The second Demiguise Statue is on a table at the far end of the room.

How to Escape the Faculty Tower: Exit the Hospital Wing and head downstairs. A prefect will be near the base of the stairs. Cast a normal bolt at the cabinet in the corner to the left (beyond the door to the prefect’s bathroom) to distract them. Avoid casting a spell at the portrait-lined wall to the right, as the railing has a large hitbox.

Continue down the circular stairs and then another, straighter flight of stairs before turning left. Another prefect is on the landing downstairs. Distract them with a regular wand attack by targeting the window behind them and sneak past when they turn around.

Return to Gladwin Moon and talk to him to complete the quest.
