How to Defeat Ranrok Dragon

Master the final boss fight in Hogwarts Legacy! Learn strategies for Ranrok Dragon's three phases, including orb dispelling, spell sets, and dodging attacks.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• The dragon is invulnerable until a magical orb is dispelled.
• Orb colors correspond to spell types needed for dispelling: Yellow (Control Spells), Purple (Force Spells), Red (Damaging Spells).
• Ancient Magic Attacks deal significant damage.

Phases:

1. Phase 1: Orb Dispelling and Damage
   • Identify the orb's color and use the corresponding spell type (Control, Force, or Damaging) to dispel it.
   • Once vulnerable, unleash damaging spells and basic attacks to fill the Ancient Magic bar. Use Ancient Magic Attacks.
   • Dodge Ranrok's attacks: fire breath (leaves residual fire), blockable magical orbs, and unblockable boulders (can be thrown back if quick).
   • Focus on dodging and dealing damage gradually.
2. Phase 2: Arena Navigation and Continued Combat
   • After Phase 1, follow a path to the left, dodging 2 blockable orbs.
   • Locate a golden glowing statue on the left for an extra Wiggenweld Potion.
   • Stay near the middle of the arena to anticipate attacks.
3. Phase 3: Intensified Attacks and Final Push
   • Ranrok's attacks become more aggressive and harder to dodge.
   • Continue the strategy of dispelling orbs and dealing damage.
   • The final sub-phase requires a concentrated effort to defeat the dragon.

Strategy:

• Potion Management: Stock up on Wiggenweld Potions and consider upgrading Wiggenweld Potency. Loot areas after goblin fights for more potions.
• Spell Sets: Equip Spell Knowledge I to have two spell sets. Recommended setup: Set 1 (Damage: Confringo, Diffindo, Expelliarmus, Bombarda), Set 2 (Orb Dispelling: Levioso, Accio, Depulso, Arresto Momentum or Flipendo).
• Orb Dispelling: Match spell type to orb color. Yellow orbs require Control Spells (Levioso, Arresto Momentum, Glacius, Transformation). Purple orbs require Force Spells (Depulso, Accio, Descendo, Flipendo). Red orbs require Damaging Spells (Expelliarmus, Confringo, Diffindo, Bombarda, Incendio).
• Damage Dealing: Prioritize damaging spells and basic attacks when the dragon is vulnerable. Fill the Ancient Magic bar quickly for powerful attacks.
• Defense: Dodge fire breath, block or dodge magical orbs, and attempt to throw back unblockable boulders if you have quick reactions. Avoid standing in residual fire.
• Positioning: In Phase 2, stay near the middle of the arena.
• Patience: This is a slow and steady fight. Focus on survival and consistent damage output.
