Make Wiggler Squirm

Learn how to get the 'Make Wiggler Squirm' Power Star in Super Mario 64. This guide covers using Tiny and Huge Islands and defeating the Wiggler mini-boss.

Alright, this star is a bit of a two-parter, using both Tiny Island and Huge Island. First things first, jump into the painting that takes you to Tiny Island. Once you're in, you'll want to Long Jump over to that area with the Piranha Plant. See that purple switch there? Step on it to create a path that'll get you to the main part of the course.

Now, as Giant Mario, your main goal is to reach the very top of the mountain. Be super careful on that narrow wooden walkway as you get close to the summit – it's easy to slip! When you finally make it to the top, find the pool of water and perform a Ground Pound right in the middle of it. You should hear a little jingle, which means the water has drained.

With that done, find the pipe right next to the hole that's spitting out those Big Steelies. Use this pipe to head over to Huge World, but this time you'll be Tiny Mario. Since the water is drained at the top of the mountain, that hole you saw earlier is now accessible. Head back up to the summit and drop into the hole.

This is where you'll face the Wiggler mini-boss. Don't worry, he's pretty straightforward! All you need to do is jump on his back three times. After the second hit, he'll start jumping around a bit as he runs, so be ready for that. Once you land the third hit, the Wiggler will cough up the star for you!
