Follow our step-by-step guide to conquer Bouncing Down Cake Lane in Super Mario Galaxy, including tips for wall jumping, navigating obstacles, and defeating the Undergrunt Gunner boss.
Walkthrough
- 1After arriving, take a train to the right and spin into the Star Launcher to reach a platform beneath two large cakes. Grab the Spring Mushroom and wall jump up the cakes.
- 2At the top, head right and jump onto a conveyor belt with tall chocolate walls. Use Springy jumps to get over the walls while progressing along the belt without falling.
- 3Jump from the chocolate conveyor belt onto the Spinning Cake. Use your Spring form to jump around cutlery obstacles and missing wedges to get behind a Chocolate wall. Find a Sling Star to reach an ice cream cone.
- 4From the ice cream cone tip, make your way up. You can jump from popsicle stick to popsicle stick, or wall jump up the first two and then jump across the tops. Jump to the spinning lollipops, avoiding the Ring Beamer's lasers.
- 5Jump from the lollipop to an icy platform, being careful not to slide off. Traverse a series of thin ice platforms while avoiding electrogoombas. Enter the orange cannon to be blasted into a Star Launcher that leads to the big birthday cake.
- 6On the big birthday cake, spin attack the flames of all candles to blow them out. A Star Launcher will spawn at the top. Collect Star Bits and coins if needed before using the Star Launcher.
- 7The Undergrunt Gunner boss fight requires using a Spring Mushroom to jump onto the Gunner's machine. Avoid flame shooters and flaming cannonballs. Groundpound the glass casing three times to defeat him. After the second hit, he attacks faster. A Power Star spawns at the top of the balloon jar upon his defeat.
Tips
- Use your Spring form to wall jump up the cakes.
- Jumping on the tops of the popsicles might be easier for some players.
- Spin attack the candle flames to put them out.
