Alright, let’s tackle the Bigmouth’s Gold Bait mission in Super Mario 3D All-Stars! This galaxy is a bit of a special one, unlocked by feeding a Hungry Luma outside the Bedroom dome 800 Star Bits. You’ll only see that Hungry Luma after you’ve finished up with the ‘Soaring on the Desert Winds’ mission in Dusty Dune Galaxy. So, make sure you’ve done that first!

Walkthrough

Collect the Star Launcher Chips: Your main goal here is to find a Golden Shell, because the regular green ones just won't cut it for opening that Golden Chest. Head into the water and swim towards a wall made of breakable blocks. Give it a spin to smash through!

Once you’re through, you’ll be in a new room where you need to collect all five Star Chip pieces. These are crucial for spawning a Launch Star. Keep an eye out for four of them scattered around the outskirts of the room, near those swirling water tornados. Be super careful though, the Giant Eels in this area are no joke! After you’ve snagged those four, make your way to the center of the room. You’ll need to navigate past some Jammyfish to find the final star chip.

With all five Star Chips collected, a Launch Star will appear on the rock where you found that last chip. Hop into it – it’ll launch you up to a higher underwater cave where the Golden Shell is waiting.

Grab the Golden Shell: Swim up to the top of this cave and grab that Golden Shell. Now, you need to make your way back down towards the beach. As you re-enter the first underwater room, you’ll notice a bunch of Boos. Don't sweat it! Your golden shell has a special property: it acts like a spotlight and will defeat them automatically as you pass.

Open the Golden Chest: Once you’re back on land with your Golden Shell, head straight for the Golden Chest. Throw the shell at it to break it open. Boom! A Toad will pop out and reward you with a Power Star. Nicely done!

Tips

Watch out for the Giant Eels when collecting the Star Chips on the outskirts of the room.
The Jammyfish in the center can be tricky, so navigate carefully.
The Golden Shell is your best friend against the Boos in the underwater room – let it do the work!
