Walkthrough

    Start on the Starshroom and use Pull Stars to reach the prism-shaped planet. Collect Star Bits and defeat Spoings.

    Navigate through space using the trail of Pull Stars to reach the glass maze planet.

    Explore the planet for Coins, Star Bits, and 1-Up Mushrooms, avoiding Goombas.

    Reach the Launch Star to break through the glass and head towards a Spoings-filled path.

    At the stone archway, avoid Spoings or time your movement to pass them.

    Reach the end of the path and aim your cursor at the Sling Pod holding Toad. Press A to pull back and launch Toad to free him.

    Jump onto the Sling Pod and launch yourself to the second Sling Pod.

    Launch yourself off the rocket onto another asteroid, then launch directly at Tarantox's planet to break its outer shell.

    On Tarantox's planet, use the Sling Pods (arranged like a clock) to launch yourself at the spider egg in the center, breaking it open to reveal Tarantox.

    To damage Tarantox, use the Sling Pods to launch yourself at the orb on its rear end. This will flip it over, revealing three smaller orbs on its underside.

    Destroy these three smaller orbs.

    Tarantox will flip back over and begin shooting ooze from its mouth and small red orbs while rotating faster.

    Hit Tarantox's rear end a second time with a Sling Pod launch to flip it over again, revealing three more orbs.

    Destroy these three orbs to defeat Tarantox and reveal the Power Star.

  • Explore each planet thoroughly; you might find valuable items like Coins, Star Bits, and 1-Up Mushrooms.
  • When facing Spoings, you can either avoid them by timing your movements or pass them as they jump.
  • Freeing Toad by launching him from the Sling Pod is a helpful step.
  • When Tarantox starts rotating faster and shooting ooze from multiple sides, slowing it down by hitting it with a freed Toad can be very helpful.
  • Tarantox's most vulnerable point is its rear end.
