Need help finding all 100 Purple Coins in the Woods Comet Star mission for Super Mario Galaxy? Follow our guide to grab every coin and earn your Power Star!
Alright, so you're tackling the 'Purple Coins in the Woods' mission in Gold Leaf Galaxy for Super Mario 3D All-Stars. To even get here, you'll need to have finished the main story and have a Purple Comet orbiting this galaxy. Don't worry, it's pretty straightforward once you're in!
Walkthrough
- 1You've got a time limit of three and a half minutes to snag all 100 Purple Coins. The main path is pretty good at leading you to most of them, so just keep moving forward towards the tower.
- 2Keep an eye out to the left of the big tree as you follow the path. There are 4 coins tucked away there that are easy to miss if you don't take a quick little detour.
- 3Just before you reach the tower, you'll see a spring. Make sure to jump on it – it'll snag you 5 coins and give you a nice boost.
- 4As you get to the tower, a little Bee character will pop up and let you know you should have around 70/100 coins.
- 5To continue upwards, you'll need to backflip onto the next level of the tower. Grab the few coins up there.
- 6Next, you'll need to make a jump to a higher platform. Once you grab the ledge, spin to pull yourself up.
- 7Keep climbing up and around the tower. You'll eventually come to a concrete block. Ground pound it to make a Sproutle Vine appear.
- 8Use the Sproutle Vine to ascend to the top of the observatory.
- 9Once you reach the very top of the observatory, the Bee will tell you that you should have about 90/100 coins.
- 10The final 10 coins are all on this upper level. Collect them all, and a Power Star will appear right in the center of the tower!
Tips
- Don't stress too much about the coins on the main path; they're pretty hard to miss. Focus on those optional ones near the tree and the spring first.
- The backflips and jumps can be a little tricky, so take your time to line them up. It's better to take an extra second than to fall and lose precious time.
- If you're really struggling with the time limit, try to get a feel for the path and the coin locations on an easier run first, then focus on speed on your next attempt.
