Luigi Star: Luigi in the Honeyhive Kingdom

Your friend's guide to saving Luigi in Honeyhive Kingdom! Learn how to become Bee Mario and rescue him to earn a Power Star in Super Mario 3D All-Stars.

Alright, so this is it – the final level where we get to rescue Luigi! Before you even think about starting this one, make sure you've already tackled Luigi and the Haunted Mansion, Luigi on the Roof, and Luigi under the Saucer. Seriously, they need to be done in that order. You'll know this mission is ready for you when Mailtoad sends you a letter saying Luigi's chilling in Honeyhive Galaxy.

Become Bee Mario

First things first, let's get you powered up. Head straight for the fountain at the top of the hill. Grab that Golden ? Coin you'll find there. Doing that makes a Bee Mushroom pop up down below, right by the waterfall. Go snag that mushroom and poof! You're Bee Mario. Now, the goal is to fly up to the waterfall level, but be super careful not to touch the water – it'll zap your bee powers right away.

Next, make your way to the edge of the platform where you see that flower bud. From there, you'll want to hover and fly across to the other side of the planet. Look to the left of the waterfall for your destination. You should have just enough flight power to make it. If you happen to land on the fence for even a split second, you'll get a little boost that'll help you avoid the pond and land safely on the grassy area without losing your Bee form. It's not absolutely critical to keep the Bee form, but it definitely makes things easier.

If you've managed to keep your Bee form, head over to the wooden wall surrounding the grassy area and fly right onto it. If you're not Bee Mario, no worries! Just walk around the tree a bit until you find a lower section of the wall you can jump up onto. Once you're at the top, keep going past the pen and head towards the ledge that looks out over the waterfall. You'll spot Luigi there, desperately clinging to a tall tree. You have two options: either fly up as Bee Mario and jump on his head, or aim and shoot a Star Bit at him to make him fall. Either way, once he's down, Luigi will hand over a Power Star!
