Darksteel

After accepting the hunt, return to Archades and find the Petitioner, the Homesick Man, at Vint’s Armaments in the Nilbasse area.

Talk to the Homesick Man to learn about the monster Darksteel lurking in Sochen Cave Palace. Agree to hunt it.

Prepare for the hunt by equipping Black Masks to resist Dark magick, which Darksteel uses frequently. If you have a Holy Lance from Cerobi Steppe, it will be effective as Darksteel is weak to Holy.

Travel to Sochen Cave Palace. Take the elevator down and proceed south to the Temptation Eluded area.

Darksteel will be found in the large room near the entrance to the Chamber of the Chosen.

Begin the fight by casting Dispel on Darksteel to remove its buffs (Bravery, Protect, Shell).

Attack Darksteel, avoiding Dark-based and general elemental magicks, as it absorbs Dark and takes half damage from other elements. Exploit its weakness to Holy if possible; otherwise, use normal attacks.

Be aware of its attacks such as Flatten, Meditate, Power Spin, Restore, Stone Gaze, and magicks like Protect and Purify. It can inflict Slow.

When Darksteel's HP is low, it will cast Darkra instantaneously. Equip Dark-resistant gear like Bone Armor, Bone Helms, Demon Shields, or Black Masks to mitigate this.

Darksteel has 111,331 HP. It is susceptible to Blind, Disease, and Poison status effects, though these are not critical for victory.

You can steal Eye Drops, an Aged Turtle Shell, or an Ancient Turtle Shell from Darksteel.

After defeating Darksteel, return to the Homesick Man in Archades to claim your reward.
