Alright, so you're venturing into the Great Crystal and looking to hunt down some of the tougher foes, specifically the Evil Spirit. This guy's a real rare spawn, so don't get discouraged if you don't see him right away. He's a bit of a tricky one, popping up where you'd normally find the Forbidden enemies.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Level: 61 - 62
• HP: 121,672 - 121,852
• Weakness: Holy
• Absorbs: Dark
• Steal: Lifewick

Resistances:

• Resistances: Dark (Absorb)
• Status Immunities: Petrify, Stop, Doom, Confuse, Sleep, Blind, Poison, Disease, Disable, Immobilize, Sap, Lure, Berserk

Spawn Condition:

There's only a 5% chance that the Evil Spirit will appear instead of a Forbidden enemy in the upper sections of the Great Crystal. Keep at it, and you'll eventually find him!

Strategy:

• As with most things in the Great Crystal, the Evil Spirit is weak to Holy attacks and will absorb Dark. Make sure your party is equipped to deal Holy damage!
• The biggest danger here isn't just the Evil Spirit itself, but the fact that it often spawns surrounded by a bunch of Forbidden enemies. Trying to fight the Evil Spirit while also dealing with a mob of Forbiddens can quickly overwhelm you. Your main priority should be to take out those lesser enemies first.
• Keep an eye out for the Confuse status effect. The Evil Spirit can inflict this with its regular attacks, so be sure to have a way to cure it quickly or equip gear that protects against it.
• When the Evil Spirit starts casting Firaga, Blizzaga, or Thundaga, that's when things get really dangerous. These spells hit your whole party hard, and when you're already taking damage from the Forbiddens, it can be a deadly combination. Focus on managing the crowd and healing through the elemental assaults.
