Nalbina Dungeons

After escaping Garamsythe Waterway, Vaan wakes up in the Nalbina Dungeon Stockade. Talk to other inmates and loot chests for Gil or a Knot of Rust.

Head to the Save Crystal in the northern end of the Stockade.

Proceed to the Arena area. Vaan and Balthier will be forced into a fight against Daguza, Galeedo, and Gwitch. Daguza has Protect status. The fight is difficult to lose and they are weak to Fire. You can steal basic curatives or Gil.

After the fight, Imperials will appear, introducing the Judges and the Bangaa bounty hunter Ba’Gamnan, who is working for the Archadians.

Reunite with Fran in The Confiscatory area.

In a room across from a Save Crystal, find your gear, a map of the Nalbina Dungeons, a Tourmaline Ring, an Orrachea Armlet, and 428 G from chests.

Save your game and proceed east to The Black Watch area.

Fight through Imperials: Imperial Hoplites (cast Protect), Imperial Swordsmen, Imperial Marksmen (deal high ranged damage), and Imperial Magi (cast black magicks, Blind, and Cure). You will not fight more than three or four at a time.

Loot chests in The Black Watch: an Aero Mote (Wind damage) in the northwestern corner of the ground floor.

Head upstairs and search a dead-end corridor to the southwest for an Aquara Mote.

To access better loot, head west through a doorway on the northwestern end of the lower room, or go upstairs and west.

Loot a chest in the corner after heading west on the lower level for Headgear.

Search an alcove with a fountain to find a chest that may yield a Bronze Helm.

From this fountain, head north across the chamber to another fountain-bearing alcove, then turn east and go up stairs.

Make your way west along a railed walkway near the stairs to find a chest that may contain a Silken Shirt. Note that these chests have a chance to not spawn or give Potions or Gil instead, and you only get one try at them.

Other chests offer Ethers, Phoenix Downs, or Hi-Potions.

Make your way to the north-central end of the northwestern part of this level to find an area transition to the south.
