Walkthrough

Travel to Jahara and speak with High-Chief Zayalu in The Elderknoll to accept the hunt. He will tell you Ixtab is located in the Henne Mines, Phase 1 - Shaft.

To reach the Henne Mines, go to the Banks of the Sogoht area and rent a Chocobo from Gurdy. Ride to the southern end of The Shred zone in the Ozmone Plains, which provides access to the mines.

Navigate through the Henne Mines to the third area. Press the switches in the North Entrance and Pithead Junction A areas to open the looping tunnels to the east and south.

Proceed to the intersection of these tunnels in the southeast, where Ixtab will appear.

Return to High-Chief Zayalu in Jahara to report your success.

Tips

Ixtab has 22,562 HP.
Ixtab is weak to Holy and can be silenced. Casting Silence on Ixtab will neutralize much of its offense.
Ixtab uses Aquara, Aerora, Dark, and Doom magicks. Its physical attacks also inflict Doom status.
Ixtab can use the Annul technick, which depletes MP. Use an Ether if your mages are affected.
Counter Doom with a Remedy (if you have the Remedy Lore 3 license).
Stop status can be removed with Dispel.
Summoning Belias is an effective strategy as Espers are immune to status effects.
