Abilities in Dragon Quest III can be used both in battle and in the world. Unlike spells, abilities cannot be sealed by Fizzle or the Talontear Tunnel. The majority of offensive abilities are physical-based, meaning they take an enemy's Physical Defense into account.
Note: The level at which you learn an ability may differ between playthroughs and even between characters. For example, two Warriors reaching Level 3 might learn different abilities.
