Walkthrough

    Head north, circling the pond, and descend the stairs to the basement.

    Follow the linear path west to a large room. Press against the northern wall between the two statues and USE the Wrecking Ball. This opens the path north and triggers an interaction with an Old Man who gives you the World Map.

    Walk north to find the stairs down to Basement 2. You can now press the "X" button to view the world and dungeon maps.

    On Basement 2, go north to find a chest with a Rabbit Tail (Happy Camper).

    From the chest, follow the path east then south to find a chest with a Rousing Ring.

    Continue west and fall down the pit to Basement 3.

    On Basement 2, go north to an NPC beside a pit. Follow the path east then north. At the top, go east then south at the intersection to find a barrel with a Cower Ring (Wimp).

    Note: The Cower Ring is cursed and should not be equipped.

    Return to the intersection and follow the path east then south to the bottom of the room. Go west and search the ground for a Seed of Life.

    Backtrack slightly, then go north and west to find a chest with 143 gold.

    Continue north along the west side of the floor to find the stairs to Basement 3.

    On Basement 3, go south down the far east path to find a chest with a Tortoise Shell.

    Return north, then go down the next path west to find two pots with 17 gold and a Seed of Wisdom.

    Exit the chamber and take the far west path southward to find the teleportal.

    Go through the door to the north and exit the Shrine.

    Outside, loop around to the east side of the stairs for a pot with 162 gold.

    Head north to exit the area. You will encounter a Blue Slime.

    The Friendly Monster Slime (Splatrick) will join your party.

    You will receive the achievement The World Awaits for leaving the Shrine of Promise.

    Head north towards Romaria.
Tips
  • You must have the Wrecking Ball from Reeve to explore this dungeon.
  • Basement 2 is a maze with pitfalls.
  • Friendly Monsters can be recruited and are necessary for achievements and the monster arena. Their appearance may depend on the time of day, and you may need items like Musk, Fading Jenny, Ra's Mirror, or the Thief's Padfoot ability to capture them.
