Learn how to return the King's Crown to Romaria in Dragon Quest III, including the optional choice to rule the kingdom and its consequences.

Note: This part is completely OPTIONAL. You do not need to return the King's Crown in order to beat the game. I recommend skipping this part for now and keeping the King's Crown as a helmet until you find something better for your four party members.
Note: If you decide to keep the King's Crown then you will not be able to visit the Romaria Throne Room.

Speak with the King of Romaria and he will be excited that you have retrieved his Crown. He then offers the Crown back to you as well as his kingdom for you to rule. Answer "Yes" if you want to become the ruler of Romaria.

You get a bit extra dialogue if you chose to make the Hero a Female. For some reason Romaria has never had a Queen even though there seems to be a Queen sitting to the left of the King. Your sprite also changes to the same sprite as hers.

Your sprite will change to either a King or Queen. Your party members will all be gone and you won't be able to access your menu. You also will not be able to leave Romaria (so you are also a prisoner. No wonder the King wanted out).

Go around the castle and town, speaking to people to see how they feel about you being the new ruler.

Once you are done fooling around, go to the shops at the southwest part of town. Take the stairs down to the Arena. Speak to the Chancellor looking guy to left of the Arena whom is actually the former King. Speak to the former King and answer "No" followed by "Yes" to return back to normal.

You can now speak to the King anytime to be offered the chance to rule again. Sadly the Crown is gone for good.
