Walkthrough

    Enter Zoma's Citadel and take the eastern path north to an intersection with two doors. Enter the southern door and search the middle of the top damaging tiles for a Seed of Magic. Go south to find stairs leading down to Basement 1.

    On Basement 1, follow the path north, ignoring other stairs, until you reach the northernmost part of the floor. Open the chest for a Hapless Helm. Return to Floor 1.

    Back on Floor 1, exit the room and continue north into a room filled with statues. You will be locked in and forced to fight three battles, each with two Stone Guardians.

    Proceed north to the Throne Room and search in front of the throne for Mini Medal #101.

    Walk behind the throne and search the ground to reveal stairs leading down to Basement 1, then Basement 2.

    On Basement 2, go east to find stairs leading down to Basement 3. Go north through the archway, then west to find a chest containing a Bastard Sword. Make your way to the northwest corner, activate a Fading Jenny, and capture the Friendly Monster Liquid Metal Slime (Quicksilver). Return to Basement 2.

    On Basement 2, head to the far north end. The three pathways offer:

    Use your knowledge of the Diamond Tiles to reach the stairs at the North Middle to proceed to Basement 3.

    On Basement 3, follow the path west to the first intersection. Go north, then northeast to find a chest with Dragon Dojo Duds. Return to the intersection.

    Continue south from the intersection to another intersection. Take the west path, then south to find a chest with the Double-Edged Sword and the Friendly Monster Souring Scourger (Sky). Return to the intersection.

    From the intersection, continue south along the linear path.
Tips
  • Make sure you have obtained the Sphere of Light from the Castle of the Dragon Queen.
  • Conserve MP as much as possible. Bring 99 Medicinal Herbs and 4 Power Shields.
  • Floor 1 of Zoma's Citadel has a similar layout to the Dragonlord's Castle. Your goal is the Throne Room, where a hidden staircase is located behind the Throne.
  • Basement 2 features Diamond Tiles that constantly switch orientations, making navigation tedious. The pits and stairs lead to a room where the Heroes in Dragon Quest 1 & 2 acquired Erdrick's Sword.
  • The Double-Edged Sword is Cursed and causes the wearer to take damage with each attack. It is recommended to ignore this chest.
