The portal from Orochi's Lair will teleport you back to the Palace entrance in Jipang.

Walkthrough

    I highly recommend Zooming (using the Zoom spell) to a town to rest at an Inn, restock items, and Save before speaking with Pimiko.

    I also highly recommend getting a Yggdrasil Leaf from the forest just south of the Shrine of the Dwarf.

    I would give the Prayer Ring to the Priest/Sage just in case they run out of MP (magic points).

    Visit Manoza and purchase Dragon Shields if you are struggling with this battle.

    When ready, speak with Pimiko in the Throne Room and answer "No" to get into a second boss battle with Orochi.

Boss Battle: Orochi

Orochi has 1,800 HP, 12 MP, 140 Attack, 68 Defence, and 50 Agility. It yields 8,040 EXP and 1,000 Gold. It can use Attack (Possibly Twice), Fire, Fire Breath, and Flame Breath. It drops no items.

Strategy:

This fight is much more difficult than the previous encounter with Orochi. She can still attack twice in a round, her Physical Attacks are quite brutal, and you have seen what her Breath Attacks can do. She may be susceptible to Snooze (a status spell) though it could not be reliably cast. It is unsure if Orochi has exactly 1,800 health as it seemed to have more, and she may regenerate health after every round.

  • Hero: Same strategy, focus on Attack and Heal when necessary.
  • Warrior/Martial Artist/Thief: Focus on Attack and use Medicinal Herbs in emergencies.
  • Priest: Try to get Sap (a debuff spell) onto Orochi. Focus on Healing every round.
  • Mage: Get Oomph (a buff spell) onto your fighters as well as Kabuff (a defense buff spell). Might need to Defend for the rest of the battle (or use Medicinal Herbs).
  • Sage: Same as the Priest and Mage.

A quick scene occurs after defeating Orochi, and you will be rewarded the Purple Orb. You will get some more cutscenes then be rewarded with a Dieamend, a Yggdrasil Leaf, and an Agility Ring (Accessory: Acrobat).
