Alright, so you're about to kick off your adventure in Dragon Quest III, and the very first thing you'll do is take a personality quiz. It all happens in a dream sequence, starting you off in a forest. Just head straight up to get to the next area with a waterfall. Keep pushing forward, and someone will start chatting with you. She's the one who'll put you through this quiz to figure out your starting personality.
The quiz itself has two main parts: the questions you answer, and then one of eight possible starting areas that your answers will lead you to. When she asks if you're ready, tell her Yes. Then, you'll need to give her your True Name and your Date of Birth (just the MM/DD part). After that, she'll ask you to confirm your Zodiac Sign based on that birthday.
Note: Don't stress too much about the name and birthday details for the quiz outcome itself. The main thing is you can't use any profanity or body part names for your True Name, so keep it clean!
Next up are the actual quiz questions, which are all Yes/No. You'll start with one of five possible questions, and your answer will determine which question comes next. This continues until you reach the end. Once you're done, you'll be zapped into one of eight different areas, and this location is what really sets your starting personality. Just so you know, there are a whopping 45 total Personalities you can end up with. As the Hero, you'll actually be able to pick from 32 of those, and two of them are specific to gender. If you happen to end up with a personality you're not thrilled about, don't worry too much! You can either restart the game right then and there, or you can keep playing and use special Personality Books or Accessories later on to change it up.
