Complete The Prognosis, Picking up the Pieces, and Meeting Takemura in cyberpunk 2077 Act 2. Get the iconic pistol Plan B.
Walkthrough
- 1After waking up in a trash heap, press buttons to dig yourself out and crawl to familiar faces. Choose the [Use airhypo] option when prompted to avoid a game over.
- 2Defend yourself from enemies within a moving vehicle. This sequence is scripted, but failing to react can lead to failure. Your health bar does not indicate success or failure here.
- 3After the vehicle defense, you will have a conversation with Vik, who will fix you up and give you a dire prognosis.
- 4After speaking with Misty and sleeping, you will have another encounter with Johnny Silverhand, confirming Vik's prognosis and showing the effects of Misty's drugs.
- 5After showering, you will regain control of V in your apartment with several tasks: stock up on ammo from your stash, equip clothes from your inventory (including gear from Konpeki Plaza), and check your computer for the “Rent Past Due” email.
- 6Once these apartment tasks are cleared or you leave the apartment, Takemura will call, initiating the next main job. Side jobs like Human Nature, Beat on the Brat: The Glen, Beat on the Brat: Rancho Coronado, Beat on the Brat: Arroyo, and The Gig will also become available or progress.
- 7All of Night City is now open to you, allowing access to numerous side jobs and gigs by approaching their map locations. New regions include Westbrook, City Center, Heywood, Santo Domingo, Pacifica, and the Badlands, with new content also in Watson. Be aware that enemy level ranges vary significantly between districts. Scan enemies and watch for skulls before engaging.
- 8More jobs will become available upon leaving your apartment, depending on your choices regarding Jackie at the end of The Heist. You may receive Jackie’s bike key or the side job Heroes from Mama Welles. It is recommended to complete Heroes and Human Nature before proceeding with the main story to secure transportation and settle affairs.
- 9You may stumble upon the side job [Happy Together] within your apartment complex. Due to its sensitive nature, consider completing it early.
- 10Various Fixers will offer to sell you vehicles. Initially, Regina will contact you, and new Fixers will appear as you enter new districts. While all vehicles are needed for a trophy/achievement, funds are limited early on. Consider purchasing the Galena G240 from Regina if you need temporary transport, especially if your own vehicle is out of commission (see Human Nature questline).
- 11You can now hunt for legendary gear, primarily armor, scattered throughout Night City. Crafting mods can be used to “break the game” for advantages. Legendary armor locations are detailed in a separate section.
- 12To find the iconic pistol “Plan B”, return to the junkyard east of Santo Domingo. Search for Dex, where Takemura left him, and loot him to obtain the pistol.
- 13Track down Takemura at Tom’s Diner, southwest of your apartment. Follow the yellow quest trail to meet him. He will discuss his revenge plan and how you can benefit.
- 14After speaking with Takemura, you will have two leads: Rogue (Johnny Silverhand’s acquaintance) and Evelyn Parker (your co-conspirator), which start the quests Ghost Town and Automatic Love, respectively.
Tips
- When prompted to dig out of the trash heap, press the buttons as they appear on screen.
- During the vehicle defense sequence, focus on surviving rather than monitoring your health bar.

- Before engaging enemies in new districts, scan them to check their level and watch for skull icons, indicating a significantly higher threat.
- Consider completing side jobs like Heroes and Human Nature early to secure transportation and prepare for future missions.
- If you need a vehicle early on and funds are low, the Galena G240 from Regina is a budget option.
- Explore the open world of Night City to find legendary armor pieces, which can be crucial for character builds and crafting powerful mods.
