Walkthrough
  1. 1
After the Chimera boss fight, loot the Active Chimera Core and find a path forward through a shipping crate.
  2. 2
Proceed to the end of the shipping container, fail to open the doors, and instead open a hatch on the roof to drop down.
  3. 3
Follow the train tracks into a train car. Attempt to call Songbird; a brain parasite will appear instead.
  4. 4
Talk with Johnny Silverhand, then follow Meyers through the train car and into the tunnel beyond.
  5. 5
Climb a ladder, drop down, and help Meyers push a cart.
  6. 6
Take the right fork in the path, leading into a maintenance tunnel.
  7. 7
Disable a camera ahead to avoid detection and potential combat later.
  8. 8
Deal with the steam blockage to the right: backtrack, jump onto a collapsed walkway, and drop to a valve. Turn the valve to shut off the steam.
  9. 9
Go through the now-clear tunnel to bypass a gate.
  10. 10
Beware of another camera around the corner after the gate.
  11. 11
Enter a control room and turn on the computer. If detected by cameras, select "Wipe recordings" to avoid combat.
  12. 12
Loot the control room, exit through another door, and follow the objective tracker uphill to an elevator.
  13. 13
Experience an episode with V, respond to Meyers, and ride the elevator to the apartments.
  14. 14
In the apartment, find the generator and search for a Battery-Powered Drone to find the necessary battery.
  15. 15
Plug the battery into the generator to restore power.
  16. 16
Return to Meyers and share a beer. You will be interrupted by Jacob and Taylor.
  17. 17
Decide whether to follow Meyers' advice and fight them, or attempt to talk your way out of the situation.
  18. 18
To talk your way out, pick the following timed dialogue options: "We’ll figure somethin’ out.", "Live to see another day.", "What’s there to consider?", "Rest easy.".
  19. 19
If you fail to de-escalate or choose violence, you will have to kill Jacob and Taylor.
  20. 20
Loot Jacob and Taylor if you kill them, and follow Meyers' instructions to dispose of the bodies in a garbage chute.
  21. 21
After Songbird fails to appear, Meyers will ask you to contact Reed.
  22. 22
If Jacob and Taylor were kept alive, you can speak with them before resting.
  23. 23
In the morning, Taylor may offer coffee. Speak with Meyers again; she will deputize you and send you on another errand.
  24. 24
You can choose to take an oath to Meyers, which is roleplay-focused and does not impact gameplay mechanics but may provoke Johnny.
  25. 25
Leave the apartment via the elevator. Johnny will comment on your choice regarding the oath.
  26. 26
Upon exiting the apartment at Kress Street, you will be informed about airdrops if Jacob was kept alive.
  27. 27
On the ground floor, you are free to explore Dogtown. Jacob may provide information about airdrops.
  28. 28
Mr. Hands may call, providing credentials to leave Dogtown and a new vehicle, the Tanishi T400.
Tips
  • Disabling the cameras in the maintenance tunnel can prevent future combat encounters.
  • The choice to wipe recordings on the computer in the control room also helps avoid combat.
  • Keeping Jacob and Taylor alive can lead to additional information about airdrops and a more peaceful interaction at the start of your exploration of Dogtown.
  • The oath to Meyers is purely for roleplaying purposes and has no mechanical impact, though it does affect Johnny's dialogue.
  • Experience points and potential loot from defeated enemies.
  • Access to Dogtown exploration and new quests after leaving the apartment.
  • Information on airdrops and potential new vehicle if Jacob is alive.
