Absolver Quest Walkthrough

Starting the Absolver Task: Progress the main story until you complete the 'Storm' quest to unlock the Kuttenberg region. Make your way to Sigismund's Camp, located in the hills east of Suchdol. If you need access, complete the 'Hush, My Darling' quest. Find Thomas of Kolin within the camp; he can be found walking around (look for a quest marker on your map) or at the central canteen.

Steal Basan’s Sword: Thomas wants you to steal a Cuman sword called the Absolver. Locate the Cuman tent on the east side of the camp, identifiable by its white top, near the arena. Ensure no one is around, then crouch and sneak into the tent. Inside, you will find a chest (Medium lock) containing the Absolver sword.

Forge a Replica of Basan’s Sword: You have the option to keep the original sword or honor your word by forging a replica. To forge the replica, visit the Smithy. The materials required are:

• Deer skin (1)

Eight-sided sword pommel (1)

Horned sword guard (1)

Frankfurt steel (2)

Iron (2)

Give the Absolver to Thomas: The final step involves giving Thomas either the real sword or the replica. For the sword to be accepted as genuine, it must be at least quality rank 3. If you give him a sword below this quality, he will notice the inconsistencies. Regardless of which sword you give him, you must replace either the real sword or the replica in the chest where you found it to avoid negative consequences for Thomas. Completing this step successfully will finish the quest and reward you with 607.9 Groschens.
