Learn how to break enemy shields in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II for the 'Without Protection' achievement. Discover tips for making it easier, including a method to plant your own damaged shield.
Walkthrough
- 1Method 1: Relying on Luck
- Fight enemies, particularly bandits, who may have gear in disrepair.
- 2Lower your Warfare skill and use weaker weapons to increase the chance of your attacks being blocked.
- 3Target enemies with shields that have low durability (under 25%).
- 4Perfect block and counter their attacks, hoping their shield breaks.
- 5If you have Mutt, command him to stay put so he doesn't interfere.
- 6Method 2: Planting a Damaged Shield
- Find a bandit and acquire a shield with very low durability (under 10%). A Knight's Shield is a good option.
- 7Equip this shield and fight with it until its durability is critically low, then unequip it and keep it in your inventory without repairing it.
- 8Find another bandit, preferably one with a shield.
- 9Perform a stealth takedown on this bandit. This may require leveling up your Stealth skill and wearing light armor.
- 10If successful, loot the unconscious bandit, take his shield, and replace it with your nearly broken one. Saviour Schnapps can help if you need to retry.
- 11Wait for the bandit to wake up.
- 12When the bandit attacks, wait for him to equip the junk shield you planted.
- 13Focus on blocking and countering his attacks. The low-durability shield should break quickly, unlocking the achievement.
Tips
- Doing this early in the game might be easier, provided you have some basic armor.
- A lower Warfare skill increases the likelihood of your attacks being blocked, thus damaging the enemy's shield.
- Swinging at an enemy's weapon can also increase the chance of it being blocked.
- Using weaker weapons yourself ensures the enemy doesn't die too quickly.
- If you're having trouble, consider leveling up your Stealth skill for the second method.
