Master the dice game in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II with our Shiny Achievement Guide. Learn how to get weighted dice, win the Semine Wedding tournament, and secure gold badges.
This guide covers how to achieve the "Shiny" achievement in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, which requires winning a gold badge in a dice game. We'll cover preparations, winning at the Semine Wedding, and alternative methods.
Dice Game Preparations
To reliably win dice games and earn a gold badge, you'll need to cheat the AI by using your own loaded dice. The best dice in the game are Weighted Dice. These can be found in a cave near an enemy camp on the western edge of Rocktower Pond. This camp is the one you encountered during the prologue. Inside the cave, pick the easy locked chest to find a Weighted Dice. These dice respawn every few days, so return regularly to improve your odds.
Winning a Gold Badge at the Semine Wedding
The earliest opportunity to earn a gold badge is during the main quest "Wedding Crashers" at the Semine Wedding. Speak to Bailiff Thrush in the stables to enter a dice tournament against:
- Radovan the Blacksmith
- Emmerich the Apothecary
- Ulrich the Chamberlain
Winning these matches earns you their tin badges. Losing too many times can lead to drunkenness, which can be cured with the Hair o' the Dog potion. You'll progress through opponents as you advance the main quest. Emmerich no longer has his badge, so you only need to defeat Radovan and Ulrich. After defeating Ulrich, you'll learn that Thrush lost the gold badge. You must then challenge Betty the Innkeeper. If you completed "Invaders" and pass a medium Speech check, she will play you for the badge. Otherwise, she will only play if you wager 200 groschen per round. Defeating Innkeeper Betty wins you the Gold Wedding Badge and unlocks the trophy.
Winning a Gold Badge from Random Players
If you miss the opportunity at the Semine Wedding, earning this achievement becomes more challenging. Most players with gold badges are found in Kuttenberg, though Spots at the Zhelejov Wagoners' Inn in Trosky also has two gold badges you can win or steal.
To play for a gold badge, you must first possess one. You can steal them from other dice players or buy them from Innkeepers. Once you have a gold badge, find a dice player and select the option to play "With a badge." Choose the game type, aiming for "Emperor" stakes (300 groschen wager) for the best chance. If a player cannot afford these stakes, wait for another player or try your luck in Kuttenberg. Winning this high-stakes game earns you the opponent's gold badge.
The Kuttenberg wedding also offers a lower-stakes game (1,500 points) where you don't need to acquire your own badge beforehand. This achievement is not missable.
