Bird of Prey Quest Walkthrough

Start the Task: Complete the 'Lackey' Side Quest by speaking to Zlata, Huntsman Vostatek’s wife, east of Vidlak Pond. After finishing, speak to Vostatek again and ask for more work. He'll mention a poacher problem and ask you to deal with one near Rocktower Pond.

Rocktower Pond Poacher: Travel to the forests north of Rocktower Pond. Find the poacher's kit in the Cottage Ruins. Use Mutt to track the scent north into the forest to find the poacher's camp. Speak to the poacher. You have a choice: arrest him for Vostatek or let him go. If you let him go, he'll share hunting spots, but Vostatek won't be pleased and you'll receive no reward from him. Return to Vostatek to report.

Vidlak Pond Poacher: Vostatek will direct you to the forest near Vidlak Pond. Speak to the tanner and the fisherman's wife at Vidlak Pond to gather information. Head into the woods north of the pond, north of the deer spot mentioned by the tanner. Find the Poacher's Camp. Wait until dark for the poacher to appear. You'll have a choice between an 'easy' or 'hard' way to deal with him (skill check). Arrest him, loot his body, and take his gear as proof for Vostatek. Return to Vostatek with the proof.

Reward for Vidlak Pond Poacher: Upon returning the proof, you will receive 45 Groschen, a Weak Aesop, a Weak Bowman’s brew, a Marksman’s kit, and gain XP in Survival and Agility.

Slatego Forest Poacher: Vostatek will direct you to Varel near Nebakov Mill. Varel will point you towards the gravedigger near Troskowitz. Speak to Gravedigger Ignatius, who will tell you about an increase in wolves in the Slatego forests (southeast of your location), possibly due to a poacher. Head into the Slatego forests and go to the eastern side to find an abandoned camp with wolves. Deal with the wolves and search a bag to find the Poacher’s knife from Slatego. Pocket it and use Mutt to track the knife's scent. This will lead you to the western edge of the search area, near the Roe hunting spot. Two wolves will be near a corpse; deal with them and loot the body.
