Find a 'Very Hard' Lock: These are rare. Examples include some Rathaus doors in Troskowitz and chests belonging to merchants like the tailor in Troskowitz after closing. Any 'very hard' lock will suffice.

Prepare for Lockpicking: You need lockpicks. Attempting to pick locks at night and in less crowded areas reduces the risk of detection. A high Stealth skill and low noise/visibility clothing are beneficial.

Utilize the 'Materia Prima' Quest: This side quest offers a lockpicking tutorial, provides lockpicks, and a bonus objective for stealthy clothing, which is helpful for picking locks undetected.

Level Up Thievery Skill: The tutorial chest (very easy) can be picked repeatedly to increase your Thievery score. The Lower Semine Mill also offers Thievery tutorials and resources early on.

Master the Lockpicking Minigame: The minigame involves moving a 'ball' within a circular lock graphic to find a 'hit zone'. The ball grows larger as you approach the hit zone and glows golden when you find it.

Coordinate Ball and Lock Rotation: Once the hit zone is found, rotate the lock. The hit zone moves with the lock, so you must move the ball in unison with the rotating lock to keep it within the hit zone. Rotate the lock fully to succeed.

Understand Lock Difficulty and Thievery Score: There are five lock difficulties: very easy, easy, medium, hard, and very hard. Higher Thievery scores increase the hit zone size, making harder locks easier to pick. A Thievery score of 25+ is generally needed for 'very hard' locks.

Leveling Strategy: Head to Troskowitz at night (after 22:00). Pick every 'very easy' and 'easy' lock you find on doors and chests. Avoid stealing to prevent being blamed for theft if spotted. Focus on quantity over quality for EXP gain.

Repeat and Progress: Sleep and repeat the lockpicking process on subsequent nights. Doors and chests relock regularly. Aim to reach a Thievery skill score of 20+ or higher.
