X Marks the Spot Quest Walkthrough

First things first, you'll need to head over to Pschitoky, which is located west of Kuttenberg. Once you arrive, find and speak with Hired Hand Krizhan. He'll offer to sell you a treasure map for 100 Groschen. Go ahead and purchase it! If you're unsure where to go next, just open your inventory and view the map; it'll point you towards a camp situated northeast of Old Kutna.

When you reach the area marked on the map, you'll find a group of bandits gathered around a campfire. The easiest way to deal with them is to wait until midnight. At this time, they'll likely be asleep, allowing you to sneak up and perform stealth kills. If any of them happen to be awake, you can throw a stone in the opposite direction to distract them, making them turn away from you.

After you've dealt with the bandits, enter the mine. When you reach a fork in the path, take the right-hand turn. This will lead you to the Bandit Leader. He's not too tough; just wait for him to attack first, then parry and counter his moves. Once you've defeated him, interact with his corpse to steal the Bandit’s Treasure Map.

With the map in hand, it's time to head back to Pschitoky. Before you leave the mine, though, make sure to loot the chests and the bodies of the bandits. You might find some valuable equipment that you can sell to recoup the Groschen you spent on the map.

Finally, return to Krizhan in Pschitoky. Speak with him and select the following dialogue options in order: “I’m here because of the map”, “We’ll settle this the nice way”, and then “Keep your money”. This will successfully conclude the quest. As a bonus, Krizhan will now become a skill trainer, allowing you to improve your craftsmanship and drinking abilities.
