Follow our comprehensive walkthrough for the Cabbage Thief quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Learn how to track the stolen cabbage, confront Sauerkraut Pepa, and make your choice.
Walkthrough
- 1Speak to Bailiff Thrush in Troskowitz and ask him "What's new?". He will mention peasants complaining about stolen cabbage. This will mark a Grocer's location on your map south of Troskowitz.
- 2Head to the marked Grocer. During the daytime, find a male Peasant working nearby and ask him about the robbery. He will reveal the location of the cabbage patch.
- 3Locate the pilfered cabbage patch northeast of the farm house. Follow the loose heads of cabbage left on the ground southeast towards a road.
- 4Continue following the cabbage trail south, southwest, and west. The trail can be sparse, so be patient. Rest until morning if needed.
- 5The trail leads southwest into the woods, past a fork, and then exits onto an east-west road. Follow this road west.
- 6Look for a bridge leading south to Nebakov Fortress. Continue west past it and keep an eye to your left (south) for another, harder-to-spot path.
- 7You should eventually spot a cabbage in tall foliage, marking a southern path that crosses two shallow streams. A cabbage after the second stream confirms you are on the right track.
- 8Follow the trail south. The beaten dirt will turn into trampled grass. Continue following this fading trail until you reach another rocky stream with a cabbage.
- 9Follow the rocky stream south and southeast. You will find a small bridge made of three logs.
- 10Cross the bridge to find a wagon full of cabbage. Further east and northeast, near white stone cliffs, you will find Sauerkraut Pepa.
- 11Talk to Sauerkraut Pepa. He admits to stealing cabbage to make sauerkraut. He will offer you some of his sauerkraut.
- 12You have a choice:
- 13Fight Sauerkraut Pepa: He is not a strong fighter. After defeating him, you cannot mention the killing to Bailiff Thrush.
- 14Tell Sauerkraut Pepa you will turn him in: He will not resist.
- 15Let Sauerkraut Pepa go: You can then choose to keep your promise or tell Bailiff Thrush about him anyway.
- 16If you turn Sauerkraut Pepa in to Bailiff Thrush, you will receive a reward (approximately 789 groschen).
- 17If you let Sauerkraut Pepa go and keep your promise, he may offer you more sauerkraut recipes if you bring him cabbages. He requires cabbages with sufficient Freshness (he refused at 50 Freshness in testing).
- 18Pepa's Sauerkraut provides +2 Nourishment, heals +10 Health, does not spoil, and is weightless. It sells for a few groschen but turning Pepa in is more profitable.
