Walkthrough

Start the quest by speaking to two drunk men at the Zhelejov Wagoner’s Inn in Troskowitz during the evening.

Agree to help them get a lute.

Steal a lute from the carpenter's house in Troskowitz. To do this, wear inconspicuous clothing, use Lockpicks, and sneak into the house through a window on the east side of town after dark. Take the lute from the workshop.

Return to the inn and give the lute to the troubadours. You might have to win a fistfight if you fail a speech check.

The troubadours will then ask for new strings. Speak to Vostatek, a hunter located east of Vidlak Pond.

Vostatek needs sheep guts. You can hunt for them yourself or buy them from the butcher in Troskowitz for 0.1 Groschen.

Return the sheep guts to Vostatek, who will make the strings.

Take the strings back to the Zhelejov Wagoner’s Inn.

The troubadours owe the innkeeper money. Speak to Innkeeper Lawrence to find out what needs to be done.

Help the troubadours pay their debt by moving eight sacks to the barn and then digging a spot behind the barn with a spade.

Inform Lawrence that the tasks are complete, and then tell the troubadours their debt is settled.

They will compose a ballad for Henry and ask him to meet them in Kuttenberg.

Tips

Consider getting a room at the Zhelejov Wagoner’s Inn as it's a useful location.
Wear dark clothing and bring Lockpicks when stealing the lute to make it easier.
If you fail the speech check after returning the lute, the ensuing fistfight is easy as the opponent is drunk.
If you have already completed the Lackey side quest for Vostatek, you will already know him.
