Ash

Fragments are found in various locations throughout the Origin System.

Most Fragments can be scanned using the Codex Scanner or Synthesis Scanner.

Scanning a Fragment unlocks artwork in the Codex under the 'Universe' tab, which can also be used as Orbiter decorations.

Each unlocked image has a hidden point that, when hovered over with the cursor, reveals a short audio transmission with additional lore. Audio clues (white noise that gets louder) help locate this point.

Some Fragments require direct interaction (default 'X' key) instead of scanning.

Fragments are categorized into types such as Cephalon, Fish, Glass, Ghoul, Revenant, Solaris United, Partnership, The Tenets, Duviri, Albrecht, and Isleweaver.

Cephalon Fragments appear as hovering blue data blocks and are typically found in rooms during missions. They reveal lore about Factions, Characters, and Planets, and decrypting them reveals Ordis' Past.

Cephalon Fragments can appear on the mini-map as a blue quadruple diamond if loot radar mods are active.

Cephalon Fragments can be found once per mission in random locations, but not in Defense, Interception, or Archwing missions.

Each navigable planet, moon, or location generally has two to three Cephalon Fragments, requiring 3 to 7 scans each.

The lore and transmissions unlocked by Fragments provide context for the game's world, characters, and history.
