Complete "Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader" The Chasm walkthrough, including companion reunions with Yrliet, Glaito, Solomorne, Abelard, and Argenta.
Walkthrough
- 1Head north past the Shriekers.
- 2If Yrliet was in your party, you will find her just past the gladiators with a group of Drukhari. Respond to her questions about forgiveness; if you don't murder her, she will join you. Remember to give her the rifle you found earlier. Newly recruited companions are not initially inked and won't follow you or contribute to skill checks so remember to link them manually (L2 + △).
- 3Look for a switch just to the north of your current position which you can use to remove a barrier.
- 4Follow the area round to the north. Keep an eye out for switches which you can activate with a Tech-Use (-20) check. If your Tech-Use skill is lacking, leave them alone for the time being since a skill failure will inflict the perplexed status which you can't easily remove. When you are able to activate them, you will be able to access loot containers. When you are able to access it, you will find an Incubus Klaive, an Aeldari Ranger Sight and the Hand of Offence accessory in the container.
- 5Follow the path north and east until you reach a warp gate which you can use. Note that there is also an exit to the Anatomical Opera which you cannot use at this time. If you are able to operate the switches to the nearby platforms, you will find the Mystic Ward accessory and a pair of Bruiser Boots in one of the containers. The warp gate will teleport you to a platform in the southeast of the area close to a lift to the Mangled Sector.
- 6If you didn't speak to the Ugly Beggar earlier, you will find him nearby along with a couple of other vagrants and he offers you a pair of surprisingly decent boots: yours. Ask him where he got them from and he lies that a friend found them on a body in the corpse dump. If you tell him to keep them (Iconoclast), you will earn 10 conviction points. Otherwise, kill him to retrieve your boots.
- 7Backtrack west a little and look for the chute above the corpse pit where you ended up earlier. Equip a ranged weapon on your main character if you've not done so already and you will be able to shoot down one of the corpses (Ballistic Skill -10).
- 8Search the body to obtain a pair of Tracking Boots and Stabiliser Gauntlets along with a melta charge.
- 9If Glaito is with you (meaning you brought Solomorne to Comorragh), you will find the remains of Glaito nearby next to a dead Drukhari. Examine the corpse and make a Medicae (-10) check for a few XP. Examine Glaito and make an Agility (-10) check to retrieve a remote control without injury. Press the button on the control and Glaito will run off towards the exit to the Mangled Sector.
- 10When you're ready to proceed, take the lift down to the Mangled Sector.
- 11If Glaito is with you, follow him north where you will find Solomorne demanding to know where his dog is. Tell him that it is time to go and he will refuse, protesting that he is guilty of losing faith in the Lex Imperialis. He plans to bring about his own death while killing as many of the Drukhari as he can. Tell him that you are not leaving without him and make a Conviction check (requires Votary), a Lore: Xenos (-10) check or Coercion (-10) check to bring him to his senses. Solomorne comes armed with the Bloody Vigil foehammer. Note that he is also suffering the Ruined Bond debuff (-20 Fellowship, +10 Strength).
- 12Head west from your initial starting point and make an Athletics (+20) check to get across to the western island.
- 13If Abelard was in your party, you will find him here. Respond as you please since he will continue to be trapped in his hallucination. If you have Dogmatic - Adherent, you can order him to come to his senses. Otherwise, make a Persuasion (-20) or Coercion (-20) check to make him snap out of his nightmare. Alternatively, use a stimm on him. Abelard will have the Stolen Time debuff, ageing him prematurely and reducing his Strength, Toughness and Agility by -20.
- 14Use a melta charge and make a Demolition (-40) check to clear away some rubble, allowing you to reach a locked (Lore: Xenos -30) container where you will find the Carapace of Sorrows medium armour, the Weakness Detector eyepiece, the Sage Necklace amulet and some consumables.
- 15Backtrack to your starting point and head north, keeping an eye out for a Drukhari corpse which you can examine (Lore: Xenos -10). allowing you to skin it and obtain a Cameleoline Skin.
- 16Return to your starting point and head east, keeping an eye out for a safe secured by a chain. Make an Athletics (-30) check to retrieve it and a Tech-Use (-40) check to unlock it. Open it up to obtain the Lawbringer power maul, a pair of Defensive Boots, the For the Defence of Cadia amulet, a Black Omen Mk I psyber-raven accessory and some consumables.
- 17Continue east towards the Commissar's location. If Argenta was in your party, she will call out to you. If Yrliet is with you, Argenta will question her presence; respond as you will. Explore her other conversation options to learn a little more about the Commissar and ask her to join you. You may want to give her the heavy stubber you obtained in the Pit.
- 18One of the crates in the Commissar's camp contains the Flames of Retribution shield and some melta charges. Use one to blow up some rubble (Demolition -10) allowing you to reach a dead body carrying a pair of Fencing Boots, a pair of Riposte Gloves, the Tactical Genius helmet, a Sky Hunter Mk I cyber-eagle accessory and a melta charge.
Tips
- Remember to link newly recruited companions manually (L2 + △) so they follow you and contribute to skill checks.
- Be cautious with Tech-Use checks on switches, as failure can inflict the perplexed status.
- If you lack the necessary skill for a check, consider returning later when your skills have improved.
- Equip a ranged weapon before attempting to shoot down a corpse for loot.
- If you have the Dogmatic - Adherent alignment, you can order Abelard to snap out of his hallucination directly.
