Solve the Blood of Lathander puzzle in baldurs gate 3's Rosymorn Monastery. Find the Rusty Mace and place ceremonial weapons on pedestals.
Walkthrough
- 1Travel to the Mountain Pass region by crossing a bridge in the far northwestern part of the Wilderness map.
- 2Head northwest from the Trielta Crags waypoint (a marker on your map you've manually placed as a destination) to find the Rosymorn Monastery.
- 3The main entrance doors are locked and cannot be picked. Look left (west) of the entrance for Knotted Roots above some boxes. Interact with these roots to climb to a balcony and enter the monastery.
- 4Once inside, head north on the balcony, then turn right (east) towards a wooden barricade. Ignore the room to your left with a Stained-Glass Window for now.
- 5Continue east, jump over a gap with tree roots, turn right (south), and go through the door to your left (east). Do not go through the Enchanted Door.
- 6In the next room with broken stairs and a talking bust, go down and beyond the bust, turning north.
- 7At the bottom of the last set of stairs, turn left (west) and destroy the barricade with a fire-based spell or a bludgeoning weapon.
- 8On the other side of the barricade, look left (south) to find a skeleton at the top of the stairs with a Rusty Mace next to it. Pick up the Rusty Mace.
- 9Go back down the stairs and through the door to the north to reach the central chamber. You can interact with the main entrance doors now to make future entry easier.
- 10Locate the Holy Blood of Lathander plaque beneath the large statue opposite the main entrance doors to start the Find the Blood of Lathander quest.
- 11Return to the room with the Stained-Glass Window (left/north of the gap in the ground with tree roots). This is where the puzzle is located.
- 12The puzzle requires placing specific ceremonial weapons on four pedestals surrounding the Stained-Glass Window. The correct placements are:
- Northwest Pedestal: Ceremonial Longsword (already in place, associated with Dawnmaster Welkinglory).
- 13Southeast Pedestal: Rusty Mace (found earlier) or another mace/bludgeoning weapon.
- 14Northeast Pedestal: Ceremonial Warhammer (associated with Dawnmaster Seed).
- 15Southwest Pedestal: Ceremonial Battleaxe (associated with Dawnmaster Vaseid).
- 16Interact with the Stained-Glass Window to see depictions of the Dawnmasters and their associated weapons.
Tips
- The Rusty Mace is essential for the southeastern pedestal. If you don't have it, another mace or bludgeoning weapon might work, but other random weapons were rejected and caused minor damage.
- The actual Ceremonial Mace can be found elsewhere in the monastery, but requires more effort.
