Walkthrough
  1. 1
Travel to Moonrise Towers, located in the ruins of Reithwin Town. You can find the Moonrise Towers waypoint by heading southwest from the western edge of the Tollhouse (ensure you don't climb ladders in the Tollhouse).
  2. 2
Cross the bridge south of the waypoint and pass the interrogation by Zealot Malik.
  3. 3
Enter Moonrise Towers, descend two flights of stairs, turn left (east), and go through a door past three goblins.
  4. 4
In the next room, you'll see pink tendrils blocking an eastern doorway. Approaching them triggers a successful [Perception 0] check and marks "Suspicious Sounds" on your map.
  5. 5
Backtrack to the room with the three goblins and find a ladder in the corner. Climb it to reach the rafters.
  6. 6
Navigate across the beams: west, then south, then east to a gap. Jump across.
  7. 7
Continue east until you encounter a wall. A [Perception 5] check will reveal it's a "Cracked Wall". Save your game before interacting.
  8. 8
Interact with the cracked wall. You have several options:
    • Reach in: This will cause you to be grabbed. You can attempt to break free with a [Strength 14], [Dexterity 16], or [Sleight of Hand 14] check. If you choose not to break free, you will be pulled into the Illithid Oubliette.
  9. 9
Arcana 14: This allows you to gain some insight but still results in you being grabbed.
  10. 10
Leave: You can choose to disengage from the situation.
  11. 11
If pulled into the Illithid Oubliette, you will face two Hook Horrors. After the encounter, your protagonist will receive the "Dislocated Shoulder" debuff (Disadvantage on Attack Rolls) until the next Long Rest.
  12. 12
The Oubliette is the source of the tadpoles. Leaving it removes the "Suspicious Sound" marker and provides an unconventional way to access the Moonrise Towers Prison area.

Tips:

  • The checks to break free from the Absolute's grasp after being pulled into the Oubliette are generally higher, including [Strength 21], [Dexterity 20], [Wisdom 21], or [Paladin | Charisma 21]. A [Melee Attack 0] check is surprisingly easy.
  • Failing the checks or choosing to
