Learn how to find and recruit Lae'zel in Baldur's Gate 3. This guide covers freeing her from Tieflings and navigating dialogue choices to ensure she joins your party.
You'll first encounter Lae'zel during the prologue, after potentially freeing the Intellect Devourer, Us, and exiting the Nautiloid ship. She'll jump down, accost you, and offer to team up to reach the helm. After the prologue, you'll find yourself on the Ravaged Beach without her.
Walkthrough
- 1To reunite with Lae'zel, head north to the Roadside Cliffs. You'll find two Tieflings, Damays and Nymessa, marveling at a caged Lae'zel.
- 2Approach the cage to trigger a telepathic conversation with Lae'zel, who will demand you free her.
- 3Option 1: Free Lae'zel by force. Shoot the cage. This will cause the Tieflings to become hostile.
- 4If you are an Oath of the Ancients Paladin, fighting these Tieflings will cause you to become an Oathbreaker.
- 5Alternatively, you can approach the Tieflings and select the option to Attack the tieflings.
- 6A dialogue option is: [Persuasion 5] Shoot the trap down. We must kill it before it harms someone.
- 7Option 2: Avoid fighting the Tieflings (Paladin specific). If you are a Paladin, approach the Tieflings and select: [Paladin] [Deception 10] Your quarry looks dangerous, but I’ve handled worse. Leave it to me, get to safety.
- 8If the Tieflings leave, you can ask them for more information: A blast? I could use more specifics.
- 9A successful [Persuade 5] check will update the main quest Remove the Parasite, pointing you northwest towards a healer named Nettie.
- 10Once Lae'zel is free, she will demand you turn on the Tieflings. You will have a choice:
- 11Attack the tieflings. (Shadowheart will disapprove, Astarion will approve).
- 12Attack Lae'zel. (This will result in a fight against Lae'zel and she will not join you).
- 13Recruit Lae'zel. Assuming you helped Lae'zel defeat the Tieflings, talk to her and select: All right, we journey together. Let’s find this creche.
- 14Recruit Lae'zel without Shadowheart disapproving. To avoid Shadowheart's disapproval, choose these dialogue options:
- 15We’ll go our separate ways, I think.
- 16Wait at my camp. We can speak there.
- 17You can then fast-travel to your camp and add Lae'zel to your party.
- 18Refuse to recruit Lae'zel. You can choose: Scowl all you like - you have my answer. Lae'zel will remain and can be spoken to again later, or left alone.
Tips
- If you're a Paladin, attempting a Deception check can avoid conflict with the Tieflings.
- If the Tieflings survive the encounter, a Persuasion check can reveal the location of their camp.
