You can now invite other trainers you meet in their Secret Bases to become your 'Secret Pals'. They'll hang out in your base, and you can challenge them to rematches daily. Plus, you can borrow one of their special talents, which might give you a free Level Up or a helpful item. Pretty sweet, right?

Getting other people's Secret Bases is pretty neat too. If you StreetPass someone playing the same game, you'll automatically swap data. You can also connect online via the PSS or even share bases using QR Codes. It's a fun way to build up your base with cool pals.

You might have noticed that Pokémon Contests are back, but now they're called Pokémon Contest Spectaculars. It's your chance to show off your Pokémon's style and flair outside of battles. After you do your first Contest, you'll get a special gift: a Cosplay Pikachu! This Pikachu is unique because it has five different costumes – Rock Star, Belle, Pop Star, Ph. D., and Libre. Each costume is perfect for a specific Contest type (like Rock Star for Coolness) and, get this, each one lets Pikachu use a special move it normally can't learn! These costumes even carry over into battles and Pokémon-Amie, which can lead to some hilarious moments.

Get ready to hit the skies! Towards the end of the game, you'll get the Eon Flute. Use it, and you can soar through the Hoenn region on the back of Mega Latios or Latias. It's like the Fly HM, but way more epic. You can fly to any place you've visited, and while it might take a little longer than just using Fly, the view and experience are totally worth it. Plus, there are special areas called Mirage Spots that you can *only* reach by soaring. These mysterious places are often home to Legendary Pokémon from other regions like Johto, Sinnoh, and Unova!

Finally, once you've conquered the Pokémon League and become Champion, the adventure isn't over! There's a whole new storyline called the Delta Episode. You'll have to save the world from a new threat that's looming over Hoenn. And the best part? At the end of this episode, you'll get a chance to catch the Mythical Pokémon Deoxys, which used to be super rare and only available during special events!
