    First things first, when you arrive in the main part of town, look for an elderly woman on the west side. If you've got an open spot in your party, she'll give you a Pokémon Egg! This egg takes a good number of steps to hatch, but it'll eventually give you a Lv. 1 Wynaut. It's a neat little Psychic-type Pokémon, and it comes with the Shadow Tag ability, which is pretty cool.

    Next up, head to the southeastern corner of town. You'll find the Herbal Shop here. The medicines they sell are a bit different from the usual ones – they're more effective, but they also make your Pokémon less happy. Happiness is a stat that matters for evolving certain Pokémon and for powering up the move Return. So, if you're not worried about those things or just want the best healing, stock up!

    While you're at the Herbal Shop, chat with the man standing near the counter. He'll give you a Charcoal. This is a hold item that gives a 20% boost to the power of any Fire-type moves your Pokémon uses. Definitely worth grabbing if you have a Fire-type on your team!

    Once you've got all that sorted, if you're ready to take on the next challenge, the Gym is located in the southwest corner of town.

  • Don't forget to check your party for an open slot before talking to the old lady about the egg. If your party is full, you won't be able to receive it!
  • Consider the happiness effect of the Herbal Shop's medicines. If you're aiming to evolve Pokémon that evolve through happiness or want to maximize Return's damage, you might want to stick to regular Potions and status-healing items.
